Start a Blog and Become a Successful Solopreneur

So you want to start your own blog and you have been reading articles on how to start your own blog or website and you are overwhelmed with the skills, tools, tricks, and money you need to get started. But let me tell you, starting your own blog or website is neither very hard nor very easy. You don’t have to be an expert in anything to start your own blog or website.

A business needs a blog to educate customers and promote their products/services, an artist needs a blog to increase his/her fan following and spread his/her art and the list goes on and on. So before starting your own blog, ask yourself “who you are and why you want to start your own blog or website. And if you have answers please go ahead.

Here is a list of what’s stopping you from getting started and what you can do about it

You are thinking, Blogging Needs Investment

If you want a domain name like www.asolopreneur.com then you have to invest a small amount in a domain name and hosting. But If you don’t want to invest money then BloggerWordPress, and Tumblr offer free blogging platforms where you can start your free blog but there would be lots of limitations in terms of customization.  You can get started with a sub-domain like yourname.blogspot.com.

I would recommend you to start a Blogspot or WordPress blog to get a feel of blogging. It would be an eye opener for you and you will get to know whether you are ready to start your blog or not. Not only that you will get to know how everything works and the skills you have and you need to learn.

You can monetize your Blogger blog with Google Adsense and earn money simultaneously.  WordPress.com doesn’t support  Google Adsense so you wouldn’t be able to generate any income from the wordpress.com blog.

We learn from our mistakes, don’t we? We all are human beings and we learn things by trying again and again. So don’t be afraid to make mistakes because it is a learning process and you can’t be an expert overnight. You have to overcome your fear of failure, the more mistakes you do the more you learn and grow.

You can edit your blog posts anytime so don’t be afraid to hit publish; you can fix or update them anytime.

What’s Stopping From Starting Your Own Blog Or Business Website – Solopreneur Podcast

TRANSCRIPT –

Welcome to asolopreneur.com podcast this is the first time I am doing a podcast and  I am going to be doing lots and lots of mistakes and that’s what I am seeking because I want to know what mistakes I am doing. It is the starting point of my podcasting journey there are going to be lots and lots of podcasts coming soon.

There are lots of things people consider before starting their blog but that’s a good thing because of this fear of failure they don’t start their blog and ultimately they fail. You can’t fail if you don’t start and so I am going to share what’s stopping blogger and how they can overcome it and what are the things that they need to keep in mind while starting their blog.

So without further ado, I am going to get to point number one which is don’t want to invest. Lots of people don’t want to invest money in blogging either they don’t have money or they are skeptical about what they will be making from their blog but there are free services like Tumblr, Blogspot, and WordPress where we can start a free blog. On Blogger.com we can start our blog and monetize the blog with Google Adsense. There are lots of affiliate programs we can promote to earn money without investing. We don’t need to buy a domain we don’t need to purchase hosting and if you are good at marketing and if you are passionate about earning money or want to share your knowledge with your audience you can definitely achieve the success that everyone desires in their life. So if you don’t want to invest money start a Blogspot blog or WordPress blog or Tumblr blog

The second factor which stops bloggers is seeking perfection, everyone wants to be perfect in their niche or whatever they are doing but it’s a procrastinating factor. We want to be perfect so we hesitate to do things because of perfection we think this is not perfect our audience won’t like it but there is no such thing as perfection we can’t achieve perfection there are lots of things that are occurring in technology and all the factors, so understand it doesn’t seek perfection when you are starting your blog. Start with whatever skill you have whatever resources you have just extracted what is possible from those limited resources and time and remember time is going on if you can’t start you can’t succeed in whatever you are doing so just start your journey and don’t seek perfection just do whatever you want to do, you don’t want to be flawless.

The third thing many bloggers think is I am not an expert on how I can do that but that is one of the factors which is stopping bloggers you have to be an expert in blogging with basic writing and marketing skill you can make your blogging dream reality. You don’t need to be an expert writer and an expert podcaster an expert video editor or an expert marketer and these are the things that you can learn over time. You can utilize resources like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter these free resources are available to everyone you can utilize Youtube and spread your blog. If you are thinking I am not an expert you are making a big mistake because no one is an expert no one has begun as a millionaire or ProBlogger overnight they have learned it from doing it. so don’t think that you are not an expert so you can’t start your blog.

And another thing is that writing is the only way to start your blog and that is absolutely wrong nowadays anyone can blog you can make a video blog, or podcasting blog and you don’t have to write things. There are so many blogs that are just transcribing the audio and posting it on their blog and they are doing very well. Nowadays everyone wants to leverage podcasts and videos and these are the multimedia resources that are taking ahead of words and articles. I am not saying articles will be dead or no one will be reading or no one reads articles but the thing is if you are not a good writer you don’t need to worry about it you can start your blog today.  You just need to put on headphones and record whatever you want and transcribe it and make it a post. Your post will need editing but you will get a draft that can be a masterpiece you don’t need to be an author or writer to start your blog.

So goodbye everyone and keeps on reading asolopreneur.com
